ts hard to say why & how I got hooked on soulful house. Frens who know me would know I absolutely hate the monotonous beat of techno due to the repetitive sharp hiss of the hi-hat & bass drum. Though house music is similar to techno in that aspect, I personally feel there is so much more to listen to in house, particularly soulful, jazzy & latin house.

For some reason or another, these sub-genres of house appeal to my taste; it could be the groovy deep basslines, it could the harmonically-blended jazz chords, it could be the soulful vocals that purr out the melodies, it could be the infectious percussion behind the main driving house beat. Or simply put, it could be a combination of all the above. As mentioned earlier, there's just so much to listen to in soulful, jazzy & latin house; listening & appreciating how the different elements of the music mentioned earlier interact with each other to form each timeless classic.
